hello darlings! sorry about the lack of updates etc. the last month or so has been a bit of a bad one in the vampire sushi household, but things should be getting back on track now. it is so unpleasant when the real world gets in the way of the zine world! we've got a bunch of new zines, and some old zines back in stock and as usual there is more coming in soon! and we've got badges! brand new lovely vampire sushi and other badges our friend vicky of tiny badges made for us. hopefully some day soon most of the catalogue will have descriptions too! we're a bit useless at them, doesn't seem like our words would do justice all the lovely zines we distro. also, it has been almost exactly one year + a month since we decided to start this little distro! still going strong <33<3
there's an excellent little zine fest at the women's library in london on the 12th june. we were going to table this year, but unfortunately we can't make it after all because of that real world mentioned before. but this doesn't mean you shouldn't go if you can! however we will be tabling at the next GIRL GERMS on friday 25th june, and tukru will also be djing + celebrating her 28th birthday which is on the saturday. but more info about that laterz!

thought i should mention vampire sushi will be having a wee table of zines at GIRL GERMS tomorrow, saturday 10th april, and tukru will be also playing some party tunes! here's flyer + info:
Girls Germs is a grrrl-tastic night of music, zines, cakes and dancing. We'll be playing le tigre, Bratmobile, Sleater-Kinney, The Slits, Gossip, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Bikini Kill, M.I.A. and plenty of other amazing tunes by amazing grrrls. It's a celebration of women's creativity, proof that girls making music is more than just a faddy trend.
This time, Girl Germs has gone back to everyone's favourite decade, the 90's! Let's pretend riot grrrl is just revving up, and Courtney Love is throwing make-up at Madonna. Dust off your babydoll dress and get ready to dance like it's 1994!
There'll be free cakes, zines from the brilliant Vampire Sushi distro (http://www.vampiresushi.co.uk/) and 90's grrrl classics on the stereo.
There'll be the usual girl germs dj's Lydia & Laura as well as the lovely Tukru, and hopefully some other awesome girls.

gee, the month of february has been busy in the zine world. i guess mainly because we've tabled at FOUR events, in three weeks. so the stock box is getting a little empty, but we should be getting more new new zines again soon! i think i'm still recovering from last weekend's brighton zine fest.. good times.

i'm terribly sorry about the terribly slacking in the month of december. one of the main items my new years to do list was "be more organized with distro stuff." so no more slacking or i deserve a slap. as you may see, we've just had LOTS AND LOTS of new zines come in (i'm working hard on more descriptions!) and we'll be tabling at the at a bunch of events in the month of february, i'm so happy they've arrived in time for these:
CRAFTY DEAF CAT on wednesday 3rd february at the deaf cat cafe at the end of the rochester high street!
GIRL GERMS club night on saturday 13th february at the camden head in camden, north london. zines & dancing, what could be better?
BRIGHTON ZINE FEST zine fayre on saturday 20th february at the hanover community center in brighton. not sure if we'll make the other events, it depends on our purse strings!

we'll be tabling at the christmas crafty deaf cat tomorrow night! i'm gonna go finish knitting some more bows!
this month has been a bit hectic real lifewise (imagine working in a toy shop in december. doing all their mail order stuff. with 150 orders every day. people asking impatient dumb questions all day long. working at least 8.30am - 5.30pm, if not til 8pm.. absolutely shattered..) it looks like any new / existing orders will be sent out after christmas, when the post office opens again. if there's any christmas present orders, let us know and we'll make an exception, though i think monday's last post day for anything..

both southampton zine fest & crafty deaf cat went good. met lovely people, sold a bunch of zines. that's why there are a fair few zines we've only got one left or they're temporarily sold out, got to get re-ordering stuff. again, it seems everything we got back in stock the other day has sold out already.. there should be another crafty deaf cat on 16th december, same bat-time, same bat-place.
also, we had a littel bit of a tweek with the website. like it?

we'll be tabling at some zine / craft events later this month..
first, we'll be at the SOUTHAMPTON CRAFT & ZINE FAIR at the Art House Southampton (178 Above Bar Street, Southampton, SO14 7DW) on saturday 21st November, sadly not on sunday because there are no cheapy megabus/trains on sundays.. we'll probably also bring some screen printed t-shirts & other crafts with us!
and then, we'll be at the CRAFTY DEAF CAT, a little craft fair at the deaf cat coffee bar (Penfold House, 10 High Street, Rochester, Kent ME1 1PT) on thursday 26th November, 6.00 - 8.00pm. there will be coffee, cake and fairylights too! and we definitely should have new zines in stock by then..
thank you for all the orders so far! there's only a couple of unlucky present stashes left, so hurry up if you want some!
